RRF conference this Saturday

RRF conference this Saturday
After a bit of dithering I've put my name down for the conference the day after tomorrow, so late bookings are possible if any message board readers are still thinking of it (or, as in my case, had forgotten the date). Past conferences have always been worthwhile!

What an inspiring conference we held today - thank you so much to everyone - organisers, contributors and everyone who attended.
It was really great, as well, to meet up with old friends and associates - and to make new friends too!
Nick Gibb rounded the event up just perfectly with a lively talk and a lively discussion at the end of it.
We have so much to thank Nick Gibb for regarding moving the country on to evidence-informed provision.

Re: RRF conference this Saturday
I enjoyed the conference immensely, from Debbie's rousing beginning talk, to Nick Gibb's at the end, unusual to hear a politician who seemed to know what he was talking about. He even knows the right kind of questions to ask 6 year olds! I particularly liked that i was able to listen to all the speakers, and not feel I was missing out on anything, which is often the case with a conference programme that is overcrowded, speakers not given enough time, or doubled-up sessions with choices to be made. The chair of the conference was excellent, economical and precise with the introductions.
I can't think of anyway it could have been bettered really. Even the sandwiches were great.
Many thanks to the RRF.

Lovely day and lovely to put faces to names!
I'm hoping to get many of the talks up on the website ASAP in pdf form. The films will take a little longer...
Re: RRF conference this Saturday
A great conference once again - many thanks to all the organisers!
Like Pam I appreciated not having to choose between different topics, which always leaves me torn. I'm so glad the RRF did not sit on its laurels after the Rose Report: the speakers revealed how much variation in provision exists around the country - roll on the tipping point mentioned by one speaker - ?Nick Gibb. Re Scotland- it's like Clackmannanshire never happened!
Good to see friendly "old" faces and meet new ones that I look forward to meeting again.

Re: RRF conference this Saturday
On Saturday at the conference, my Bose headphones dropped out of my rucksack, probably in the dining area, though it could have been in the auditorium.
Apparently, someone made an announcement asking if anyone had lost them when I wasn't in the room. Does anyone have any knowledge of their whereabouts, please?

Prof. Greg Brooks attended the conference. He left some leaflets behind advertising his latest book:
Dictionary of the British English Spelling System.
You can purchase a copy in various formats but it's also available to view for free, online.
