Is this your Local Authority?

Post by Kiki » Sat Apr 06, 2013 9:00 pm

Bedfordshire (Central),
Bracknell Forest,
Cambridgeshire,
Hampshire,
Hertfordshire,
Oxfordshire,
Surrey,
West Berkshire,
Windsor & Maidenhead
Wokingham.

Are any of you familiar with any of the above local authorities and could comment on their implementation of the Rose review reading. In other words how well are they teaching phonics and training teachers to support phonics learning?

Conversely are any of them using ECAR/Reading Recovery or other contradictory programmes?

If you know of any documents online that back up your observations can you point me to them?

Many hopeful thanks!

Hi Kiki, try this one:

http://readingrecovery.ioe.ac.uk/centres/380.htm

This suggests Reading Recovery is in all the areas in your list. You will find RR is rather insidious, it continues to be match funded to 2014.

If this link doesn't work just google Reading Recovery Centres UK.
